My homestay was outside Inverness, Scotland with the Russell family. The mom was Rosie, the dad was Iain and they had 4 sons. Only 3 of them were there when I was. The youngest was Doug, the next was Patrick or Patch (brunette with glasses) and the next was Allister or Al (blonde). Their dog is Trojan who accompanied us on most of our adventures.
Here’s a quick summary of my trip. It was a long train ride up there (9 hours) but it was a gorgeous scenic ride. They lived in a cottage back on dirt roads. Very homey house. The food was great. I’m not sure what it all was but I liked it. The one thing I remember the name is haggis which is actually various meat inside a lamb’s stomach which sounds gross but was really good surprisingly. The boys were really into rugby so we watched a couple games and I learned some of the basics. We also hiked down to the small town near their home. It was beautiful and easy on the way down but had to hike all the way up on the way home. It was good exercise. I also got a tour of one of the local castles which are what some of the pics are from. A family still lives there and gives regular tours. That’s the basic jist of it. I had a great time. The family was wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone interested.
